RULES

Our goal at Immersive Realms Live (IRL) is to create a fun, immersive and safe environment for all citizens of the World of Del and we need your help to do that.

By purchasing a ticket, you agree to read and abide by the following rules and regulations:

  1. Roleplay is required.

Attendees must wear attire matching the theme and their character for the duration of the event. Modern clothing and amenities (including electronics and cell phones – referred to as “crystals” in the game) break the immersion and we want to transport you to a whole new world! Please help us by keeping all non-themed items out of sight while on the event grounds and embracing your role in the world by learning the local lingo, using an accent, bartering and fully roleplaying during the event. IRL staff reserves the right to require you to change your attire, stow out-of-theme items or even confiscate items until the end of the event to preserve the integrity of the world for other paying players. The only exception for modern items is inside your personal tent, out-of-sight of other players.

For tips and tricks on concealing modern-day items, see our blog here.

  2. Leave no trace.

Attendees agree to pick up all trash, camping supplies, food and other items throughout the event and before they leave at the event’s end to ensure the grounds are left clean and in the same condition as when they arrived.

  3. Outside food & drinks.

You may bring your own food & drinks, but efforts should be made to SAFELY “disguise” modern amenities such as charcoal or propane grills if they are being used in an in-character area. For example, maybe you store your charcoal in a burlap sack instead of the Kingsford bag you purchased. Or if bringing a cooler, it should be disguised in a way to fit into the world such as made to look like an old chest or wooden bench. Otherwise, items must be kept out of sight or in the Out-Of-Character area.

  4. Campfires.

Fires may only be built in designated areas. No large fires (bonfires) are allowed. The World of Del reserves the right to extinguish any fires.

  5. No smoking.

The Castle Park property is owned and operated by Williamson County Parks and Recreation and all Williamson County facilities are smoke-free. No smoking is allowed anywhere on Williamson County property.

  6. No alcohol or drug use.

Any staff, guests, volunteers or spectators displaying signs of intoxication or found with alcohol outside of their tents will be asked to leave the premises, via the Williamson County Sheriff's Department should a IRL or WCPR representative deem appropriate without refund.

  7. Stay on ground-level.

No attendees may climb on the second story of the Highland Manor, the second floor of the Dias (located on the joust field) or any other structures. Only verified volunteers and staff may climb on these structures.

  8. No tent stakes, cleats or other objects that penetrate the ground on the joust field.

Holes in the joust field will injure the horses for the annual renaissance festival, so absolutely no holes, ground impressions or ground penetration should occur on the joust field.

  9. No campers under 18.

Attendees under the age of 18 may walk the grounds during the day and participate in all age-appropriate events, but they may not stay overnight and must be off the grounds by Quiet Hours at 10 PM.

  10. No pets.

Unless they are a service animal.

  11. No firearms.

Pursuant to TCA § 39-17-1309, it is an offense for any person to possess or carry, whether openly or concealed, any firearm in the Venue while the Venue is being used or operated by any board of education, school, college or university board of trustees, regents or directors for the administration of any public or private educational institution. Williamson County Government has these signs currently posted at Facilities.

  12. No real weapons in general.

Although your character may don a LARP sword, axe or other similar weapon, no real weapons may be used as props or in battle at the World of Del. IRL staff reserves the right to determine if a weapon is appropriate or if it will need to stay in your vehicle for the duration of the event. For more information, read our blog on weapon requirements.

  13. Tent rules.

Tent interiors shall be considered private domiciles unless you have been explicitly invited in OR the door flaps are propped open. A tent with the door flaps closed means you are not allowed to enter even for stealing as part of the game.

  14. Stealing as part of the game.

Only some participants in the game are able to steal or be stolen from. This is decided ahead of time in coordination with the Game Masters. If someone is not designated as being willing to be stolen from, you may not steal any of their in-game items. And of course, stealing of out-of-game items is strictly prohibited and will result in your ejection from the game and the property.

  15. Inclement weather.

In the event of inclement weather, the IRL team will consult with the Williamson County team to determine when to cancel or refund the event.

  16. Quiet hours after 10 PM.

There are residential areas close by, so no loud talking, music or walking around the grounds or off the grounds may occur past 10 PM.

  17. Freeze call.

If at any point in the game, someone shouts “RED LIGHT” all in-game activities happening within earshot must pause until the situation can be handled by an IRL or WCPR staff member. This is for the safety of all of our players and we appreciate your cooperation if this call is made.

  18. Be a good Delian.

No hate speech – in character or out-of-character – will be tolerated. Remember that everyone is here to have a good time. That means being willing to compromise, work together and respect each other's boundaries. To ensure everyone has a fun and enjoyable experience, both in and out of character,  be a good Delian by respecting other players, following the rules of the game and staying in character as much as possible. Call your hits, participate in the roleplay and let’s have a fun time.

It's important to remember that while the game is fictional, the interactions and relationships between players are real, and being a good sport can make all the difference in creating a positive and immersive environment. If you violate these rules of engagement, IRL and WCPR staff reserve the right to have you removed from the property without a refund.
